Learning here, learning there, learning takes place everywhere…
In a chair, in a bed.
On the floor, standing on your head. {true story}.
{feeling a bit Dr. Suess-ish today, I guess.)
Sprawled on the floor is where you will find us today…
While we love reading books, how it looks in our home is in a constant state of flux. Lately, we’ve had to be creative with our read-aloud times and locations. Yesterday, Greta wanted to stay close – really close. So our reading time took place on the ground as she crawled over and played on top of me!
Our current read-aloud is By the Great Horn Spoon! So far, only three chapters in, we are mesmerized with the adventures of this 12 year old boy and his butler as they set sail for the California Gold Rush. We are currently studying the presidents and decided to make a detour when we came to James Polk and delve a little into the California Gold Rush. With football season having started the boys are fascinated by their new discovery of the story behind San Francisco’s team name.
And then there was the boy that just wanted to play golf…ย all. day. long.
Golfing is exhausting work and laying down to learn ourย +9’sย looked pretty appealing!ย Greta was thrilled!

Ooooh, look at those eyes of hers! AND, she loves math too! Lol ๐
I’m pretty sure we’ll be looking back at read-aloud times with the fondest of memories, too.

Sweetness Heather. Cutie pies you have there in your home. Don’t you just love homeschool? In what classroom do you get to do all that you did on that floor that day?
Love to you!
