We really needed a quiet couple of weeks. Our Christmas celebrations were quiet, yet joyful. We enjoyed simply being together. After the business of the beginning of December and then the sick–hospital craziness of the middle of the month, it felt good to just unwind and soak in the quiet (that’s a relative term), slow and even days. Time for reflection is always good. As we slipped back into ‘normal’, it gave me time to pause, think and pray about what our ‘normal’ is to look like at this season.
I’m not sure if it is the changing of seasons from one semester to the next or the winding down of a year, but the last two weeks have been filled with planning and looking forward to 2011. We’ve made some tweaks to our schedules and priorities. I’m excited to see where God will lead us as a family this next year.
So we quietly slipped out of 2010 – quite literally. Sleep has a way of doing that. (So incredibly boring, I know. Somehow it just felt like the right thing to do this year.)
Looking forward to all the new year will bring!
May this new year be full of God’s grace and love.

I love the time of new beginnings – and we really get it three times a year. The beginning of summer, the beginning of autumn and the new year! Glad to see you back to blogging!
