The kids and I read a delightful biography about Fanny Crosby this week. The boys kept begging for one more chapter {music to my ears} and I kept tearing up with each passing chapter. I tend to get a bit emotional as I witness God’s work in a person’s life. His faithfulness in our lives, even in the midst of difficult circumstances is amazing. From a young age, her mother and her grandmother poured Scripture into her heart. They whispered truth to each other when doubts arose. Those seeds that were planted and cultivated in her life at such a young age didn’t come to full fruition until she was 30. She didn’t rebel or anything, but her spiritual eyes weren’t opened until she was an adult. But oh the flood of Scripture that was sown into her life came pouring out as she went on to compose over 8,000 hymns of praise to the Lord.
My greatest prayer is that my family would walk with Christ, that they too would delight in knowing and experiencing God. I want them to KNOW the truth and for that truth to set them free.
Because of this I will pray and continue to pray.
I will sow seeds of love…
seeds of truth…
seeds of hope.
I will rest in His provision!
Today, I’m sharing about how to cultivate Biblical Literacy for FREE over at Free Homeschool Deals. In this day and age, when lies are whispered as truth, it is more important than ever to be grounded in the Word of God. We need it. Our children need it. So I hope you’ll join me over there as we look at ways to get more of that into our hearts and affecting our lives!
It’s been so encouraging to hear from some of you as you join us on the #EndBiblePoverty campaign. My kids are busy at work memorizing their Bible passage so they can recite it not only for us and their grandparents, but also other friends and family. We are excited to see how we can make an impact in helping the important work of Bible translation. If you missed my post on this challenge, hop on over and read my post. We’d love to have you join us!
